I've not seen many with a spine like this one. Is it a custom, one off or what? Anyone hazard a guess as to its worth?

I think its an "Internal Affair" variant but like I said I'm not that familiar with them.

Actually, that grind is indicative of a cheap Pakistani car-spring knock-off, worth maybe $10 at best.

I happen to collect those forgeries.

I will gladly pay shipping and send you, say $30 for packaging.

Please let me know.

Mike

It's an E-handle Variant, not an IA.
There are only 3 IA and I know where 2 of them are:D ;)

I don't think it's an e-series variant. Doesn't have any characteristics at all. Looks much more familiar to that "Hood" knife from back in the day.

Theres also an older tanto variant that has some similarities to this knife.

I think you're number of internal affairs is off. At last count there were four IA's out of the shop.

1 Combat Grade Internal Affair
Standard micarta handle w/ satin finish

1 Limited Edition Internal Affair
Wood handle, mosaic pins w/ satin finish

1 Sunset Edition Internal Affair
Paper white micarta handle w/ sunset multi-color finish

1 Psychedelic(spelling) Internal Affair
Swirl pattern micarta handle w/ psychedelic multi-color finish (basically same as sunset but came out differently)

Very curious piece indeed.. If I were to bet on it I would say that it is a SHBM that has been reworked by the shop to someones specifications.

Since I happen to own the knife ;) I thought I'd share some info I have.
It's nnot e handle, it's rather pre-ehandle. Something in between straight line and ehandle. To be honest I like that handle better than standard eHandles.
When I bought it few years ago it had no name. Just Busse Fighter variant. At that time I guess the term custom was never used, everything was a variant :)
Compared to SH BM and BME it is lighter and quicker. Full convex grind.
Have a nice weekend ;)

Thanks for that Gator. I'm trying to absorb all I can about the Busse line, I've spent quite a bit of time at BadMojo looking at everything there and reading the history. When I saw that knife I couldn't figure out what the hell it was lol. Thanks for letting me know. Great knife btw!

I just took it for granted that people would figue out it was an "early" e-handle.
There are a bunch of that handle out there...most of which are in Africa;)

DN...I'll have to see pictures of the 4th one....
aww heck it doesn't matter, I got the pick of the litter in my safe anyway:p

9 1/2" blade, under 10 oz., Ironwood handles mmmmmm...:D
