Came across this knife for sale. I can't identify it. Blade is 6 inches, has the old
square logo, and has a pommel which I don't think I've ever seen. Is this some
obscure discontinued dagger? Or a counterfeit?

Fake.If it was a desert dagger, which it is a copy of,it wont have a black blade.Pommel is wrong, guard looks wrong.

Logo is in the wrong place anyway. Most likely Chinese.Save your money,my 2 cents.

+1 on what zanussi01 said.

This is a knife "pretending" to be a SOG Daggert 1/2.

Save your money.

LOL. Yes it's an obvious fake and my money had no intention of going anywhere near it. Thanks though. There seems to be a pattern of counterfeit SOG fixed blades with blacked blades, where SOG does not make such a version, and using the square logo in white on it. I think a couple years
ago we saw counterfeit Seal 2000s with this same pattern. This fake Daggert may be from that same time frame. I see the same black blade fakes for CS knives as well.

Theres a fake SOG folder on (that auction site) right now. Its a two handed opening knife ala Cold Steel Paradox, kind of a weird bali-slipjoint hybrid. Blade blade with a spearpoint with Tanto printed on it,lol. I think they are also calling it a Blink. It looks semi-interesting, too bad its not legit.

There are hundreds of fake SOG folders on the bay. Just search SOG Flash and see how many of those look nothing like a real Flash.

Yeah SOG fakes are insane on ebay, the amount of fake folders alone that I see people not only buying but having bidding wars over, pretty sad. Why i always set my searches to North America or just USA when looking for knives.

I have had no problems buying knives from Germany and Japan.
I won't even consider buying if it is being sold from China or Hong Kong.
