Photos ID Victorian knife

Stylewise, it's English for the high end Indian market to my eye. The stamp could be actually English manufacturer, English trader, or Indian pretending to be English.

I read it as WG Thomson, which sadly isn't in the books I checked.

Thanks for your reply. WG Thomson is the only readable part of the mark I managed to read. It seems someone tried to imitate Latin letters without understanding them properly. Given the fairly good quality of the piece, I concur it might be an Indian made knife produced at the time when English was not commonly spoken in India which implies early to mid 19th century.
