I was browsing on here trying to figure out what my tool is. Ive had it about 6 years and its by far the best multi tool I have owned. The pliers are well made and strong. I like that you can get the tools out without opening it. The lock is a nice feature as well. On the down side some of the tools are pretty hard to open. Any tricks to that?
Thanks.

That looks like a well used Swisstool.

As far as the tools being difficult to open - I would soak the tool in hot water, dry it very well, and lube the joints. Sounds like years of use may have gunked up the joints. I use compressed air to make sure I get all the water out of the joints after soaking just before lubing.

I've used this trick with old Vic SAK's that I pick up at yard sales - some of which wouldn't open at all before I soaked them.

Thanks I have used compressed air before but never tried the soak. It has been well used but I think its got a lot of life left :)

Good call found the exact one. "Victorinox Swiss Army SwissTool Black Oxidized Multi-Tool" now I know what to tell folks when they ask about it. The price seems to have went up quite a bit from what I remember...........

Move the tools back and forth while under the water to help remove the gunk. Be sure to oil it up when you finish.
