Has anyone dealt with Idaho Knife Works? If so, what are your opinions concerning the quality of the blades, etc? From what I have read and heard, the individual at IKW seems to be a master smith/artisan.

Mike Mann has been making good knives for a long time. He tends to like to make knives styles like those of bygone eras. I'm a fan of frontier style knives, and he makes some nice ones.

Mike makes excellent "period/historical" knives...I've done sheaths for two (a third spec piece is in the works) -the workmanship is finely done and they are scary sharp!

here's one of his rifleman's knives -
