Recently I was able to go to the Buck factory in Post Falls. I was given the opportunity to buy a red and black Tempest with the Idaho logo on it from the custom shop. I was told there that there would be only "50" of these made...has anyone heard this? I appreciate it.

I have heard of this, is the blade mirror polished?

Any pics? Was it priced just right?

The blade is mirror finished, very pretty knife. I'll try to post a good picture...I was able to get it at $79, so far I haven't seen any like it...they all have the standard stamping without the state logo.

The state logo was the year stamp on all of the factory knives the year Buck moved to Post Falls. I think the significance of that knife has the mirror blade?
I have seen 2 of them but they are always "for sale"

I gotta move closer to Idaho... :D

Yeah, there's a few on the web with that logo but, I think you're right...the mirror finish is quite different. I was told by the folks at the factory that they do this occasionly to be offered to club members, I guess I just hit it right on my visit. They have one show case in their company store with one-of-a-kind blades there and it's worth looking at if you can get there. I had to ask if there was a way I could get contacted on any possible future knife "exclusives" and the old fella that was running the counter just sort of smiled and said, "You and 25,000 others...you just gotta stop by and take your chance, bud." HA HA...I had to laugh.

Wouldnt be nice if Buck had a on-line store for BCCI members! Who better to give a home to all the oddball, overruns, leftover Bucks!
