Woman Stops Grizzly Attack With .25 Cal Pistol.

This is a story of self control and marksmanship by a brave, cool-headed woman with a small pistol against a fierce predator. What is the smallest caliber you trust to protect yourself?

Here is her story:

While out hiking in Idaho with my boyfriend we were surprised by a huge grizzly bear charging at us from out of no where.

She must have been protecting her cubs because she was extremely aggressive. If I had not had my little Beretta Jetfire with me I would not be here today!

Just one shot to my boyfriend's knee cap was all it took. The bear got him easily, and I was able to escape by just walking away at a brisk pace.

It's one of the best pistols in my collection. I used a Busse to skin him with. I can't wait to get my mount back.

Haha...that reminds me of the saying. "You don't have to be faster than the bear, just faster than whoever you're with."

To answer your question though....40s&w is my choice.

Edit: 40 s&w for personal defense against scum bags. For bears see my quote above.

For a kneecap a .22 will do.

I have been in Grizzle country with a .357 loaded with Bear stoppers. After seeing one at very close range I think a S&W 500 would be about right.

In the words of Ranger Joaquin Jackson, ".45 Long Colt because they don't make a .46. . ."
Actually, I'd go with a proper 12 guage slug from my Lupara or a .45 from my SAA.

I would just calmly explain to the bear how I respect it and mean it no harm. Oh wait that didn't work for the last person that tried it. Give me a .300 Win Mag. ;)
