I was contacted by a very stealthy "Squatch Hog" recently who wanted to sell off about a fourth of his Busse collection due to his recent retirement. Problem was, he only wanted to sell models that he had several of and he didn't want to sell off individual pieces but rather wanted to sell the entire batch in a single blow. This particular Squatch Hog has well over 400 pieces dating back to the early 1980's.
This Squatch Hog's desire to sell a batch of over 100 early Busse knives to one collector and the fact that most of the blades in this batch are duplicates consisting of only several different models made for a very difficult task. I called a few of the Hogs and inquired as to their interest in purchasing such a huge batch of early Busses and nearly all had the same reaction. That reaction was that they would be much more interested if the batch were about half the size and if it consisted of all different knives.
I then contacted IdaHog and he has been working out a deal with this Hog for the past few weeks. It looks as though he may have made a deal but I'll leave that to him to discuss.
Very Coooooool!!!!
