Idea for a new hybrid

I just got my first M-43 and there are things I like about it; actually quite a bit. Other than a slightly proud tang it seems like a fine example of a do-it-all khuk.

My hybrid would sacrifice some of the do-it-allness for a lighter nimbler blade. I would like to see the non traditional khuk handle and rounded spine mated to a lighter blade such as the Sirupati.

The following spec taken from HI's Sirupati page sounds ideal to me.
18 inches, about 1.25 to 1.5 lbs, 3/8inch

Any thoughts?

Would it still have a pronounced belly?
I've sometimes thought about asking for a blade with a thin belly as you exit the curve down and as it got closer to the tip it just gets fat. Almost like it's a large chest over an anorexic looking belly, like if a tomahawk mated with a khukuri and they had the cutest little baby.

In my mind I pictured it with much less belly than the M-43. Kind of like in my mind I picture myself with much less belly than in actuality.

Hope you're healing up after your mishap.

Haha, maybe we could convince killa to come up with a mock up image (for both)

Doing pretty well, I'm seeing a hand specialist tomorrow to check in on the status of my tendon. I've been able to move my finger as needed without much pain, so it's doing pretty well, just a matter of time for healing the tissue completely. Luckily I heal well, after I broke my hand a few years back I had a nurse comment that I healed like Wolverine, citing that I'd doubled up on bone with a denser structure.

I don't think he wants to try a mock up of me.
I just did a rough mock up but I'm not very happy with it; I'm no artist and I don't have a french curve to assist. Using a khukuri as a drafting aid is not ideal.

Good news!!!

Heinlein,

Given M-43 as an all-around weapon and Sirupati is a poor weapon by its own,
a shaven edge and belly would mean it's close to a Gelbu?

I'm trying to imagine the love child in womb.
