After making one knife with my new grinder I can see the wisdom of the cutting down on the steel dust as much as possible. According to most people, putting a container of soapy water under the grinder will cut down on the majority of the steel dust you make. My problem is that every setup I've seen involves a bunch of welded steel fixtures and such.
I was piecing together the PVC pipe frame for my new light box/tent today and it just occurred to me... why not make a frame for one of those little rectangular garbage cans for a water trough out of PVC? It would be easy. Just use 8 of those 3-way 90° angle fittings and cut four "legs" and 8 sections to make the ends of the rectangle. Maybe would take even less than that... heading to Lowe's to figure it out!
I'll take pics and post a purchasing list for other non-welders who want a similar setup, assuming this works...
