Ideal lockup for a liner lock?

In the image above, liner with lock is on the LEFT. In other words, A would be "early," C would be "late."

What is the best lockup to you?

1. Before Image A
2. Image A
3. Between A and B
4. Image B (dead center)
5. Between B and C
6. Image C

I would choose #3, but what do you all think?

Image A, because it has enough room to wear in and last longer. If it's before A you have the chance of it not locking and slipping back in non-locking position
