So I'm thinking to make a handle for my CS trench hawk during my quarter break. Thing is, I'm at a loss for ideas. Whats a good wood to use, should I stain it light or dark, etc? Would one of the CS handles for the other hawks work well? I wasnt looking to use anything exotic, and I think I have a hickory dowel from Kingfisher Woodworks lying around somewhere. If you guys got any pics to serve as inspiration, I'd appreciate it. I guess I have the modding equivalent of writer's block.

Unfortunately I think solid aluminum is the only thing strong enough not to break with the way the head is secured. :o

Great. Where can I get one made that won't break the bank? I think the hickory might hold up. Kingfisher uses some really quality wood, pretty flexible. I've bashed their inch thick jo staves against harder woods and it's stood up.
