Ideas for wallet folder?

I'm trying to find a folding knife small enough and thin enough to comfortably keep in my wallet, but even the Gerber Micro L.S.T. seems too thick. Does anyone here keep a folding knife in their wallet?

I am sure you thought of the Spydercard? SOG acsess card? For a regular style, there was a post long ago about a Benchmade that was very slim and this guy said it carried in the wallet great. Maybe a search? The knife is the little silver model with the chain.

EDited to add: Case makes the "Tag-A-long" wallet that is made to hold a mini blackhorn lockback that comes with it. Online for about $20 or less.

Hi Cardimon,

There are quite a few wallet knives out there...I have the Spydercard and it is great (EXTREMELY sharp)...as mentioned above, there's also the SOG as a dedicated wallet folder. In addition to these two, there are some fixed blades designed for wallet carry. Mad Dog made a credit card shaped knife awhile ago and JSP/Bladerigger currently offers one. Snody offers the Facilitator with a cheque-book wallet with built in Kydex sheath. Feel free to email me if you need scans of any of these.

I keep a A G Russell "Gent's Lockback" with a black pearl handle in my wallets outside pocket.

Very small thin sharp ats-34 blade.

Depending on what you're looking for this wallet knife to do ... I have a Spydercard and it fits perfectly, it's made to mimic a credit card for portability.

One day I helped my daughter take out a huge carton that furniture had come in, very heavy construction. I didn't want to wave my Sebenza around, not knowing who was around in a neighborhood I wasn't familiar with, so I used the Spydie to slice up the carton to go into the dumpster. I could hardly believe how it sliced through that carton like it was a thin sheet of paper. It was like I was unzipping it, it took it apart so effortlessly. Didn't dull the edge noticeably either.

Also, I have wide hands, and I can't get a comfortable working grip on a lot of short knives. Different as the Spydercard looks, it holds real well.

If you carry one of those 6in wallets you can carry a thin profiled fixed blade in there. Or depending on the other stlyes you could carry a 3 1/2 in fixed blade with the tip of the handle sticking out. Spomething that is 1/8 thick stock or less.

Wow, thanks for all the replies!

You know, I had considered the SpyderCard some time ago, and then for some reason forgot about all about it. I shall have to look at it again.

I will also look at the Victorinox Secretary as I'm a Swiss Army collector.

The Microtech Option II is a nice knife as well. If you take the scales off of a Benchmade 330 it fits very well in a small space.

Spydercard is great in many ways, but it is very heavy. Same with the SOG version. You will notice the difference. I stopped carrying mine pretty quick because of how it dragged my pocket down.

There is something of a cheaper "swiss utility card" or something like that. It has a few little gadgets in it like a magnifying glass, tweezers (poor ones), etc. and also a reasonable emergency utility knife with a push-dagger-like handle. It isn't as high-quality a knife as either of the more serious "card knives", but it is a hell of a lot lighter.

Hi Matthew,

I understand your point about the weight of the Spydercard BUT it works out as an advantage for me...I have a North Face wallet which is equipped with an outer pocket (surely they had the Spydercard in mind when they designed it :D )...anyway, to make a long story short, the "weight" of the Spydercard allows me to draw it instantly out of the wallet's outer-pocket (while it's still in my pants)...granted, the Spydercard is not the "ideal" defensive knife (where rapid deployment is a concern) but I can't very well carry a 9" blade while dressed in a business suit (well, I could but...)

I think the SpyderCard will be too heavy for my wallet, as well. I'll begin a new thread about gentlemen's pocketknives.

I think Matthew has described the tool logic products:

I have one of these and, yes, it's not a top quality knife, reasonably suited for light cutting tasks but not much more. They are similar to Victorinox Swiss Cards in weight, size and accesories, excepting the blade, that is bigger in the tool logic.

The wallet knife idea is attractive, but I've found little SAKs to be a lot more useful.

@ The Magician:

I think the Benchmade you mentioned is the 450 Park Avenue.
A very good looking knife.

Yes, that's it. Better knife than on the "swiss card", but either is better than no knife at all. Still agree that the Spyder and SOG cards are much better as knives. Interesting that "outer wallet pocket". I'll have to look into that one...
