I dropped off my AK-47 at Okuden's on Sunday to see what he can come up with, you might contact Brian.

Well... we can still talk over ideas even if you guys don't have pattern blanks. I don't mind letting my AK "sleep over" for a bit to be used as pattern for several sheaths however this would not fix the long term problem.

I've got a few of Brian's sheaths over the years and would be interested in seeing what he comes up with.

Miki is gone on to greener pastures, the hogs were too much for her, but Kathy is back!!!
Holy Crap! No one ever tells me anything! :o

guess I'll have to go back to blaming GARTHERSON!!!!! :D

I have a good feeling things will smooth out with time, its growing pains, and Busse Combat has had one heck of a growth spurt the last couple of years. :D:thumbup:

Dewayne,

You are not alone in the dark! Holy crap!

Guys,

Since I have received several e-mails on this already....

My current plan is:

1) Buy more Kydex (I actually ran out last weekend!!)
2) Build Porkducci's sheath
3) Take and post pics of said sheath if it is "up to spec"

After I've done those things, I can fill in details like cost and wait time.

Merry Christmas to all!

Brian

Oh, OK, I was about to make a VooDoo Doll Impression of you and start sticking pins in it since you never answered my email, but I will hold off on that for now:eek:

I just so happen to have a SJ TAC I'd be willing to send in to get a sheath made.

I think I've given up hope on getting anything Kydex made this year so I'm turning to leather.

I thought it was just me. :(

Well... I guess I just thought Brian was too busy to answer. Looking forward to seeing what comes of this.

Edit to add: Where did the last few posts go????

I'm not real sure why someone won't answer an email. Never understood how if a person who depends on customers for a living can't take the time to go through his or her emails and flippin answer them. I know that when you get a ton of email it's a real pain in the butt to have to go through them all but for god sakes these are potential people that are contributing to your means for making a living. Why take the chance of ticking them off, especially with the web forums out there. Just gives them the chance to air their griefs and possibly losing more customers. Respect and a good customer base are a hard thing to achieve today, let alone something to get back once you lose it.

Just a FYI, I've never had Armoralleather (Dwayne or Stacy) not return one of my emails, and I've bugged the crap out of them before. Even during their move they continued to email and keep me posted. Their customer service is on the same level of Jerry Busse's.

Not trying to offend anyone here... just my two cents. Brian might have a very good reason for not returning emails, what that is only he knows.

I'll try and shed some light and I hope Brian is O.K. with it. Brian has a full time job that he has a bit of commute each way to get to, he also has a family and not too long ago, he had back surgery, which was very painful for him and took longer than he thought to heal. All of these have put him behind in his sheath making (and with Xmas coming up, I'm sure he is even more busy), so he is currently in catch-up mode. Just like waiting for Jerry or Busse Combat to return your email, they are busy, it doesn't mean they don't value your business, they are just streched out at times. Sometimes you just have to wait a little longer for the best product, in the end, it will be worth it. Just my 2 cents.

Thank you randucci. I was surprise to hear that he wasn't returning emails to his customers. I heard so many good comments about the man. Sounds like he's not the type to make excuses and maybe that's why he didn't go into details of why he hadn't responded to his customers. Another good quality to add to the many I've heard. Thanks again for your post. I hope he has Merry Christmas and he feels better.

I received an email from Brian on the 18th telling me the status of my SJT sheath he is making for me. I don't know what Brian's full time job is, but I know in my case at this time of the year I would not be able to do much of anything else beside my primary job until the New Year. I am anxious, but I'm sure it will be well worth the wait. :)

Oh an thank you again Randucci for the heads up on the forum for the knives you got over to Brian's for a pattern.

Guys,

Randucci has hit the nail on the head...

I apologize for not posting info earlier, but as mentioned, I don't like to make excuses and I REALLY don't want to sound like a whiner.

I'll be posting info in a week or so related to my current situation with orders, day jobs, family, and so forth.

E-mails are going out shortly (possibly even tomorrow) reference SJT and FSH orders.

BTW, I plan to have the AK prototype within "2 weeks" ;)
(No, I really do mean that. I've gotta have that done before the "day job" starts up again)

Brian,

Hope things smooth out for you.
Looking forward to seeing how you wrap the AK's.
"2 weeks" is OK with me.

i've actually already made one, a 2 peice deal that has rivets on both sides (a bunch of them), with an overlapping area in the center that is bolted rather then riveted, since i dont have rivets that long. i was able to make it out of a single square sheet of kydex wich was nice.

since its my personal sheath and not for sale, its pretty ghetto and unpolished. sheaths that you make at 2am the night before you leave for the holidays (At 4am) always turn out nice looking :)

im urrently at a family members house so i cant upload pics, but its not to hard to make a sheath for it out of kydex. were i to ever want to carry it on my person, i'd hook up a seat belt webbing shoulder strap for it.
