Howdy!

I've rehandled and handled a few knives in stag but never really got the desired look upon completion.

I know the tea-bag method , shoe polish/dye method.... what I'm not famaliar with is the burning method.

I'm looking for that old school look on stag , where the deep parts are very dark and the upper parts are the natural light brown /tan/off white color, as seen on older American and European folders.

Ideas and suggestions welcome !!

Burning stag will not give the results you desire. Burned stag is obvious, and burning destroys the surface.
Culpepper (Mother of Pearl co.) can dye stag like you want.
