I have a scrap of 440C steel that's 1/16 x 1 x 5. Any ideas on what I can do with it? Too much to throw away, yet too small for anything decent...

5 inches is perfect for a neck knife. 1 1/2 inch blade 3 1/2 inch handle. would make a nice little utility patern. Look up Bob Engnaths old paterns on the web, he had one he called the mouse skinner I think.

Can always do a stub tang of some sort if you want it a little longer. That thickness makes it about perfect for a desk/utility knife of some sort. Sort of along the lines of an X acto knife or scalpel.

Would make a good folder size, or maybe you can cut it into a few pieces and use it as spacers on a handle.
