i'm listing 2 bucks on ebay soon and would like to get the descriptions and reserve prices correct..the 110 has the characteristics of the second version, and i wuz told previous owner bought it in "68"..3 pins all brass and short nail pull, but the bolsters measure 9/16" wide.sez USA over BUCK on tang..the yachtsman has visible pins holding the bolsters on. maybe early mfg..both are new/mint."what's the right thing to do about these knives for sale? thanks for your help guys!!

Willie,

That 110 was made after 1967 for sure because that is when we added USA to the blade stamp. To identify it further we need a little more info. Can you tell me what the spacer looks like? This is located in the rear of the knife and is either made of brass or steel. If it is brass, it is either a seperate piece, or integral to the right hand bolster. We stopped using the brass spacers in around 1971.
For a value on the 315 Yatchman i would do a search of completed auctions and see what they have been selling for. It is discontinued so keep that in mind.
Hope this helps,

thanks joe,,you buck factory guys and club members are always professional, courteous, and helpful..the spacer is brass and is a seperate part to the bolster, however barely noticeble due to your (high quality workmanship) would this be a 2nd version 68 or?? the "southern gentleman" i got it from said it wuz bought in 68. thanks again,,willie

Willie,

Thanks for the compliments!
In regards to your 110, it looks as though it was made in the 1970-71 timeframe. I got the info from a data sheet put together for the Buck Collectors club many years ago. I have to admit that i would not be surprised if your "southern gentleman's" memory is correct and the data sheet wrong. I have been doing some research on the 110s and have found a few questionable "facts" about it's history.
I hope this helps,

Say Joe, you wouldn't happen to have a copy of that data sheet laying around you could get to me.
Then I wouldn't be bugging you so much and you could get to the real work of researching buck history and getting that 110/532 bf special happening.

Hey Joe,

Would you possibly maybe have another copy of that 110 data sheet? I would really love one.

Joe, as a long time Buck fan, (the knives and the family), I too would like a copy of the list. Maybe the list could be scanned and posted so that we could download it.

Nimrod,

Send me your address via email and i will get that list to you right away. Posting it here would be a great idea but alas, i do not know how.

Take care,
