Please see the attached pictures. This 2008 Model 110 has a laminated green material for scales. On the flat sides, the scales have a wood-like appearance, while on the edges, the material is a laminated something. What is this stuff? Thanks.

It's a little hard to tell from the photos, but it could be wood that has been dyed. The flat surface may be a flat-sawn surface and the edges the corresponding quarter-sawn surfaces. Does it feel like wood?

These are the best pictures I could take. No, it doesn't feel like wood.

It looks like a green one I have, but mine is older. It was called Fibron back then and I understand that Dymondwood is the same stuff (resin impregnated laminated wood) that has a different manufacturer. It can be made in any color they want just by using dye.

Your knife isn't in the catalog, so I suspect it was a special run requested by some vendor as a special project from Buck.

I have one buried somewhere that the box says French Green. Sometimes the shades of green may vary, or show lighter or darker depending on the lighting.
Sorry, have another project going on so not going to go dig it out.

It's really a sad state of affairs that the 300 guy has to tell all you 110 guys what the heck this knife is...........it choking in my throat........ha

Lets try one of 250 GREENBONE/nickle bolster/ Satin blade made for Ozark Cutlery.....

Sorry Craig, it's not even close to the Green Bone 110 from Ozark. I have two of those and they have no rivets and there's no way to mistake the bone for wood. ;) And no, the bone isn't laminated.:D

And Stonefly's blade is polished, not satin.

And some 37 or so of them had rivets due to an amended work order that was less than legible.

Check page 637 of Joe Houser's "The Compleat 110."

;)

LOL That is definatelty not bone ,the pictures clearly detail the laminate woods layers. It is french green,no doubt 'bout it.LOL
