I am trying to identify a knife I bought in the late 80's from the maker.

I have a prototype of a knife that I bought from the designer at a Gun Show in NH many, many moons ago. The designer was an ex-spec ops operator medically retired. I had a certification written and signed by him but have misplaced it over 4 moves and 3 states … still looking for it but no luck so far.

He indicated he submitted this to Blackjack and they produced it for sale; there is a story behind this, I am certain I saw this knife for sale in a Blackjack paper catalog when they showed their wares as line drawings.

Any one with any information, copies of catalog displays, pictures, whatever that is related to this knife I would appreciate the help in confirming its identity and related information …

I can't post attachments as a Cherry Member but will email them if requested through the Blade Forums Messaging System ...

The knife has a spear shaped blade 6 inches in length and a 6 inch hilt including an aggressive skull crusher. The blade goes from 1 1/8 inch wide to 2 inches wide at 4 inches from the hilt and then back to a point … double edged blade … stainless steel with a phosphate finish … tang and thickest part of blade at its centerline spine is ¼ inch ... the blade tapers from a center line spine to each sharpened edge ... it is designed to cut on any horizontal draw as the blade increases in width ... the skull crusher is more of a skull penetrator ... It was longer but shortened for field use to 1 inch ... condition is near mint ... it is suitable for back hand grip or the European Saber grip ... it is a hellacious fighting edged weapon ... I am desperate to obtain documented, anecdotal, hear say ... any kind of history regarding this knife ...

Micarta hilt slabs and edge of hilts full tang have perpendicular square cuts at 1/16 inch wide and 9 per inch for grip retention …

Knife is 12 inches from tip of blade to tip of skull crusher.

Any one who can help ID this cutter … I’d appreciate the help … meanwhile I continue to hunt for my certification

Best regards to all
