I got this knife years ago from my uncle as a gift, and I can't find it anywhere online. I'm looking for opinions on the knife, what steel is used, and if anyone still makes them or sells them.

Congratulations on having a cool Uncle. I can count the number of knives gifted to me over my lifetime on one hand and I can see the faces of each cherished gift giver in my minds eye when I hold the knife. My beloved and dear departed Grandfather was number one with a multi-blade scout knife with bale. Nothing brings his memory to me so clearly as when I hold the knife. Not a photo, conversation with another person who knew him or any other item he owned (I have his chest of drawers in my bedroom). Give a knife and live on for another generation at least. If I can help with a photo please email me by clicking on my avatar. For example, you could email the image to me and I could post it for you. I am happy to help if I can.

AFAIK the RedHead brand is an in house brand associated with quality gear at value price in Bass Pro stores. You see that name on all kinds of gear, including cutlery, within that big box store.

Here is a link to a thread within Bladeforums where an employee says that RedHead is a BP store brand: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/238526-Case-Redhead

I know that Buck Knives, Inc. has made product for RedHead. However, your knife does not look like it was made by Buck to my sore eyes. It looks foreign made.

Your barehead (no bolster on rear end of knife) clip point bladed, lined lanyard hole, lockback folder is a knife that I would be proud to carry. I really feel comfortable with back lock folder regarding safety. A terrific gift for sure. Lucky.

I don't personally know anything about that particular knife. Although, It looks like a pretty cool knife!

I just wanted to say that I think it's nice that you offered to post the picture for him. I think that was cool.

I can remember everyone who has ever given me a knife. I'm lucky enough to have a knife that belonged to my Great Grandfather. My Father acquired the knife after my Great Grandfather passed away. It was actually my first knife. It's most likely the reason I'm into knives now, because he (my dad) would let me mess with it when I was young. I used to sit and cut paper with it. Haha.

Thanks Oregon for the offer I finally figured it out lol. I really like this knife, so much in fact I use it in the kitchen. It holds a keen edge. One of my most prized possessions is a case kodiak my grandfather gave to me that he had received as a gift from my uncle and dad.
