Hey all! I recently got these knifes from a late family member, and i wanted some more information. besides that the flip knife gets stuck at the handle, it doesn't close properly and is hard to lock so i wanted to know if there's any way to restore this. I'm not sure if I'm even posting this in the right thread. Any help would be nice.
EDIT: It says "stainless china" on the flip knife's blade.

Quality grinds, premium plastics and topnotch pining. Why any gas station in Mexico would be proud to sell these!

Just kidding, I've carried worse back in the early 80's.

Welcome to Bladeforums serhatje.

The first knife looks like a Fury brand "Tiger" (pictured below). It's a rather "inexpensive" knife. You can find other examples on ebay (that's where these pics came from)

I don't know about the butterfly knife.

As far as fixing the butterfly knife, it's impossible for me (and likely anyone) to tell from just a description how or if it can be fixed. It's a VERY "inexpensive" knife, and although I can understand sentimental value for such a knife, it might be impossible to really "fix" it, or it simply might not be worth the effort (like if the problem is symptomatic of the design/construction/cheapness/etc).

On a separate note- let me commend you on not asking "What are they worth?":). A lot of new members make that mistake.

Thanks for the input! The worth means nothing to me, it just means a lot in sentimental values. I'm just curious about modifying them to actually work properly, other than that i really liked the feel of a balisong. Anyone have recommendations? I'm looking for a real blade that's smooth and without a latch, I'm also not sure if i should buy bearings or washers, i'd appreciate any input!

There's an entire sub-form here dedicated specifically to balisong/butterfly knives. If you click on "Categories" in the dark blue strip across the top of the screen, then click "Knife Discussion" you will see a list of several different sub-forums. The balisong/butterfly knife sub-forum is the fourth one down. The members who frequent that sub-forum could probably answer any questions you may have about such knives.

The Tigers were sorta based on the work Rod Chappell was doing in fixed blades at the time or just a bit earlier. I remember Valor came out with a couple of folders loosely based on them, then everyone sorta followed along for a bit.
