there is a particular model I am interested in bidding on but have no idea if its even a Busse. Its claimed to be a busse necker knife..it has no markings and is cord wrapped handle..its 3 5/8 inch blade overall 7 5/8. does anyone know what this model could be? has a black coating

I think it's the Police recruit?

I'm bidding on the Sarsquatch and I have it at $0.50 so leave it be!

I think it's a black swamp warden???

...just saw one marked "BUSSE SURVIVAL .........." ...It does NOT look like a Busse... I could be wrong, but no talon hole, etc... Hmmm??? You need an older Hogs opinion!

Overall Length sounds more like a Skeleton Key, Long and Skinny.

Combat Recruit and Police Recruits are more short and fat.

Get a picture of it up here and it will be easy to tell.

Edited to add,

I went and took a look, I do not recognize it, prolly Bussekin.

If its the one with the green cord wrap and the little bit of cardboard above it, that is a release Busse did a while back of "apprentice" knives. Not INFI, not sure what exactly the steel but they were cheap. I got a couple, gave one to my daughter and kept one for myself for future handle work. iirc they were 69.00 back then.

Grump leather bender got it right.

It was a blank you could buy and finish yourself.

They were coated and heath treated but I do not remember if they had an edge ?

I thought they were INFI

I made kydex scales and sheaths for them. :)

Nope, not INFI, the old man made it very clear when he sold them. No edge on them either, my two were totally coated. One of them still is. :)

Bobby and Cappy, you two are very welcome. :D
