I got this big old Becker Knife. The Handle is micarta but is a different shape than what I normally see in pictures here. Its flat with a chequer pattern, not round and smooth. Is this the original hanlde?

looks like the Camillus micarta that someone painted black

Wow that was fast! Not the picture color came out wrong. The colour of the handle is actually greyish-greenish-black sort of. Its hard to describe but its not paint because I tried to clean it with thinner acetone you name it, it stayed the same speckly hue.

I've seen a few of those scales.
Definitely Camillus. Maybe dyed black?

Mine looks exactly like the third from the right but without the elecrtical tape. Maybe the handle is a little darker like the 1st from the left or something. But thats definitely it. Many thanks to all responders!

This knife was a gift from a friend from the 11th ACR who came back from iraq 2 yrs ago. Jesus christ I pity the haj on the wrong end of this mother(woo!)....

Merry christmas!

Definitely Camillus, definitely dyed using RIT Forest green. I have seen the exact same pair of handles, on a BK7. One of my old BK7's. The Dark Green or Forest green dye almost comes up dark grey, almost black when they mix with the micarta. Second dye job I done.

Also, keep the language to PG13, this is an open forum, you can get by with a few words, but the F-bomb will getcha an infraction. If you get a chance, edit for kids please. Thanks.

photoshop is a wonderful thing :)

Ha! I still have all the users (with scales) above with the exception of the Extreme. The S30V just never did it for me.

Confession time...

However, that really big collection pic with 'em all laid out actually was Photoshopped.
I took the time to lay out all those Beckers, take shots, put 'em back in sheaths, etc.
Then I came inside and found I'd left out one of the knives. Crap.
So rather than go through the whole rigmarole again, I copied one of the knives already in the pic, rotated it, played with the lighting effects, and made it look pretty natural.
No one has ever questioned it. I'll let you all decide which knife is chopped. I actually think you can tell if you look closely.

Is it the BK7, 4th from right? Do we win something? :D

No that one was in the original picture. I'm talking about the pic below anyway.
And I did own the knife I chopped in. I just left it out of the original picture by mistake.
