a friend of mine had a small black multitool on his key chain up in till a few days ago. it is smaller than a micra and has a black coating it is well made so i doubt it was some pos.

Did it look like this?

btw, i'm no way connected to this company and i'm not endorsing this product. I was actually thinking of buying one for the wifey's key chain this X'mas. hehe.:D

Yeah kinda sounds like the swiss tech micro-plus that you are describing. I have one, and they are fantastic little tools (in not just a little heavy). The screwdrivers work well, and the little pliers are good for gripping stuff that is too small for a standard MT and too large for SAK tweezers.
However, upon receiving my utilikey (also made by swiss tech), I retired the pliers to the drawer. I need multifunction in my featherweight tools more than i need pliers.

The SwissTech tools are a lot like the SeberTech tools:

I remember seeing both for quite awhile before realizing they were produced by two different companies. :p

Glad to be of help Eisenhower.

Hey Bob,

Those sebertech MT's look like they might have some sort of spring mechanism for the pliers? Never seen nor handled one up close so I have to ask, which is better for you?

Nice pics, as always, btw, how's the book coming along?

SEASON'S GREETINGS TO ALL!

Howdy Sparkee!

Book's on the slow track at the moment. (Thanks for asking though) :)

There is no spring in the SeberTech pliers. Good idea though, seems like it would be a worthwhile improvement. (Maybe on the M5? :D) The M2 and M3 compare pretty closely to the SwissTech tools. If pressed, I'd have to say the SeberTechs are slightly better.

Thanks Bob.

Expecting to see that book on the shelves soon.:D

Back to the Sebertools, I thought maybe they had the same mechanism as the micra or something similar. I gotta start wearing my glasses more. hihi.
