I recently lost my favorite little Schrade folder, possibly a LB5? Approximately 3 inches closed, single blade, silver colored engraved bolsters and nice wood (Rosewood?) scales. The blade was engraved "Schrade Custom" or "Schrade Custom Made". Please help me identify this knife and maybe point me in the direction of where I can purchase a replacemant. Thank you.

The LB5 was 3.75", the LB3 was 3". The LB5 is more commonly found of these two lockbacks.

Other than size, they were the same knife. EBAY is your best bet and you may want to make sure it is a USA made Schrade.

If you look at the opening page of this forum there is a sticky at the top that has a link to Larrys collecters site.Check the Uncle Henrys to see which knife is yours.Sorry I can't post a link.Arnold

Then I believe it must have been an LB3. It was very similar (almost identical) to this knife on Ebay, but smaller, and 3 inches sounds right.

I can't find one anywhere. If anyone can direct me to one, I would be very grateful. Thank you.

Bummer to lose one that nice. That puppy will easily top $100.00 if the right people see it. I've bought a few from James Jr. and his site gets a lot of traffic. Did yours have the fancy scrolled bolsters and the sheath too?

That's it! It looked just like the one at the top of the flyer. No pouch though. Thank you for all the replies.

I would like to add that I will pay top dollar and also a finder's fee if anyone can find me one of these. My wife thinks my lost one will turn up around the house somewhere, but I have searched and have my doubts. The story behind the lost knife would probably not sound believeable, and I cannot replace the sentimental value, but I would sure like to find one.

eBay has a "WANT IT NOW" feature where you can list your knife, then any knife dealer or collector looking to sell one can see it. We aren't allowed to buy and sell on this forum. You might be able to put a notice in the EXCHANGE forum here. Another alternative is to eMail A.G. Russell. He sells a lot of collections. Good luck with it.

Speaking from my experiences, the lost knife will resurface only after a replacement is found and purchased, but not before.

I will keep my eyes open on Ebay, you never know when a specific Schrade will show up. I would say this is a pretty rare one. It is also a beauty.

Good luck.

Yes, an LB-5 with an SCM5 blade. You wanna half-a-knife? Likely an "end of days" construction, or a post closing construction, IMHO. Maybe worth the price of an LB-5 as an oddity, but again, IMHO, not more. The earlier (SCM5 days) LB-5 had NS bolsters. This one is much later, BR bolsters.

I finally found one! I know it will make the serious collectors crazy, but it will be in my pocket as soon as I receive it. Never thought that one little knife would be so difficult to locate. Thank you all for the help.

That's great news Arrow8. I expected you to have to look all around the world before you found another one like that at a decent price. Hope it arrives in good shape.;)

Absolutely nothing wrong with you pocketing, carrying, and using your favorite Schrade knife. They were made first and foremost to be used. All real serious Uncle Henry's Lost Souls collectors admit this. Maybe not to their wives.:o
