...or something along those lines. :) It has been a while since I contributed much here so I got out to take some sunny day pics yesterday for my own reference and thought that they might come in handy for others too. Unfortunately I don't have green linen or any of the papers in this bunch, but these photos show most of the natural micarta colors Busse has offered. Perhaps it may help others in identifying what they have so as to accurately describe their scores, or just for viewing enjoyment. ;)

Clockwise from top left:
Snakeskin
Black Canvas
Tan Canvas (old version with no red tint)
Tigerhide Canvas (basically tan and black canvas combined in layers like multicolor G10)
Tigerhide Linen
Black Linen
Green Canvas
Maroon Canvas

Just the canvas flavors above snakeskin:

Edit: I was able to find some older pics to show some others a little better.

Black Paper, has no real texture/grain to it, unlike G10.

Nice pics Tim!

Your first pic got turned somehow, the top left is now your TG14 sporting Tigerhide linen.

2 WTF lol. For scientific purposes I see. At least that what I try and tell my wife. Its for the kids, or its for the sake of humanity. Or just fill in the blank lol. Nice pics and thank you for the post. It seems someone is always trying to figure out a color. In my opinion they are easier to see wet than dry. I think once they are oiled down nicely they really pop with color.

Well, I found and added some more pics to the first post. Do you guys want me to add G10 too so that it is all in one thread?

Thanks for the shots Tim.

Love the Black Linen!

Lawrie
Thanks, me too. :)

Great reference and awesome pics Tim!!
Thanks, hopefully it can come in handy down the road. :)
Nice! Thanks for that:thumbup:

Was two, now just one. Had to pick which handle I liked better and move out the other.

Linen sure looks comfy
It certainly is, in fact it is my absolute favorite of all the materials for feel. ;)

Awesome Tim, thank you for sharing and doing the work.

here is a pic of the various tan canvas :)

great thread! didn't realize there was both canvas and linen Tigerhide. anyone know which was on the tankbuster le? it's got to be more than just black and tan canvas mixed up right? there seemed like so many colors on that one knife.

Here are a couple Green Linen. Feel free to edit them into your original post Tim!

Linen Tiger Hide on the Tankbuster LE-SFNO LE, ASH-1 LE, NMSFNO LE etc etc, Canvas Tiger Hide on the FBM LE!!!

The Tan Canvas varieties are really cool, and who doesn't like green linen!? ;)

As far as I know, the Tankbuster, and all of the other LE Tac handles were Canvas Tigerhide as shown on that Custom Shop TB. The same goes for the fusion handles prior to the NMFBM LE. The other tigerhide knives since the NMFBM LE release have almost all been Linen Tigerhide. There are many "leftovers" that show up at shows with either or though, like this TB which was one of 4 at Blade 2012, a couple of years after the TB offering. The Canvas Tigerhide is just black & tan canvas, the linen is much more complex and varies from batch to batch. Same with the green linen, of which the earliest batches were the most stunning in color contrast.

Keep 'em coming!

Thanks Tommy, Thanks Tim, tiger is something I'm regretting not getting earlier. Bit the bullet years ago on an fbm in snake figuring there would always be an opportunity to get something tiger, but then it dried up I guess for the same reason.

David, great pic of the various tan iterations.

Will try and take a couple pics soon to add to the the list.

That was actually probably a good call getting the Snake FBM. Busse says that the Snakeskin has not been reproducible, but there has been more Tigerhide brought out over the years.

More Snake, just because! :D

Great pics, nice to see the current micarta next to some of the older and rarer offerings. Thx

Grabbed some pics. Got a hold of an old, new to me, DSLR. Still have it on auto settings, but would really like to figure out how to best use it. As for the handles. Next time I may hit them with a little mineral oil. Usually I wash them with a little soap and water so they look a little dry. Three black, three tan, snake, and green linen.
