Hi i was looking in my odds n ends box and i came across these two knives, i have no recollection of buying either of them in fact the only Buck knife i remember owning is the 110 i proudly wore on my belt in my biker days. Both are illegal carries where i live especially that pointy one with the lovely smooth action, any help would be apprecia

Top knife 186 Odessey, 420hc steel, nice knife, I love those, perfect for edc, carpentry work, they are tough as nails and so comfortable in hand.

Thanks for the prompt reply guys at least i now know what i have got. I can only think someone gave me the 170 as a joke cos i do not like serrated edges, as a point of interest i saw Ray Mears using a 186 in a survival video, he was in the Vietnamese jungle with a pilot who had been shot down during the war there. It is a very smooth deploying knife but one i doubt i will ever carry. Thanks again.

The Odessey is a great knife and it came out originally with ATS34 steel. I like the shape and overall design. I carried one in the EDC rotation for a long time.

That 170 and its larger brother the 175 are sleepers as far as I am concerned, for pocket knives. They have the silky smooth action of the Alphas. I easily open/close them one handed and there were numerous blade and handle configurations
