A friend gave me a knife to clean up and sharpen, and I know nothing about it. It's probably not worth much. I can't upload pictures, so here's my best description:

The knife itself is a standard lockback (not a liner lock). The blade is a 3.5" clip point. There are no thumb studs or holes; just a nail nick. The left side (as if you were looking at the spine) says "Maxam Supreme V". The other side is etched "440 STAINLESS JAPAN" near the base of the blade. The handle is steel, but there are indentations on where inserts used to be. No idea what they were made of though. There's a very small hole in the butt of the knife for a lanyard.
The knife actually sharpened up well enough to shave with, and there's a bit of blade play in it. Like I said, probably not worth much. Anybody know what model this is, and how much it would go for NIB?

maxam knives are usually available at hardware and liquor stores.

the ones ive seen are in the 5.00 range.

Morimotom, What's with the badger? Man that is some kind of weird. I think the author ate too many of those mushrooms. I LIKE it.

started in the busse forum, a reference to the badger line of knives. cant remember who posted it originally.

but it makes me smile every time i open it.

Maxam knives before they started being made in china were made in japan and were usually 440c and they were nice knives, I have an old lockblade buck 110 clone that came from them before they went south thats probably what you have. If I remember correctly they went for about 10.00 wholesale and had decent fit and finish.
