Identify this knife please

I also would say a hawkbill because of how much of the blade shows while it is closed.

Looks like a Sheffield or Solingen-made Hawkbill. Can you not post a better pic Mudguard?

The blade seems to have some sort of design on the edge.. almost like a thumb grip laguiole kind of style

I wish I could but its an online picture I found.. I love how the knife looks though

If you say what you like about it, other posters might be able to point you in the direction of something similar.

I like the bolster and the overall shape of the knife. I think i would prefer it if it had a sheeps foot blade than a hawkbill. The wood pattern is great too! I think a carbon steel would be definitely necessary

If you search for the sites of the manufacturers of (for example) Taylor's Eye Witness, Joseph Rodgers, George Wostenholm, and Arthur Wright in Sheffield and Otter in Solingen, you'll find similar knives

the wood looks a little like Lignum Vitae to me, heres a knife I found while googling around that has Lignum Vitae handles:

Thank you Jack Black.. I think an Arthur Wright would be great for me in lambsfoot and rosewood but I am hessitant because I read their fit and finish can vary alot and being in Canada personally inspecting one makes it difficult

You're welcome. The Arthur Wright Lambsfoot in rosewood can be an excellent knife (plenty of pics and info about it here if you do a search). The fit and finish can be hit and miss though. I'll leave you a Visitor Message*.

* Edit - Well I will if you turn the function on! ;)
