Hello all,

Going through my late grandfathers things and found this knife. He was in Korean war and WW2 and traveled in Asia quite extensively, but also had a fair amount of random stuff. Anyone know anything about it? Thanks in advance!

I'd say that one falls into the "random stuff" category. It is not an ethnic knife of any pattern I'm aware of, i.e. it isn't something from the Moros or Dayaks or one of the other tribes in the Phillipines, it's not Chinese, Japanese etc. It could be a theater knife, i.e. something that bored soldiers or sailors made during their downtime in theater somewhere, although if that's what it is it is certainly one of the cruder examples I've seen. It could also be just some random home made thing (seems most likely) that someone pieced together sometime. Value would be nominal.

Thanks, as we discussed it more the possibility that he made it himself did come up based on how crude it was. Just figured wed check to see if it was a style from overseas. Appreciate the speedy response
