Hey all,

I made an account specifically to get some help identifying this axe that belong to my grandfather. After getting the dirt and grime off the axe head, you can see it's a True Temper, "double bit" (I belive that is what it's called?) but it has some seemingly random letters on the other side of the axe head (USCES RS).

I'm trying to figure what what those letters might mean, and possibly how old this axe is. My grandfather being 94 years old can't remember anything about it. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Check the corps of engineers campgrounds in the state you live in is what I meant.I'm guessing river side but could be anything.Did your grandpa travel around in a rv the corps campgrounds are pretty popular could have found it.Ask him if he ever worked for the government a lot of fellas work for the corps when they get out of the service.
