Hey Yall,
I just bought my first Hinderer XM-18 3.5 Gen 4. It isn't quite here yet, but I'm looking at a smooth carbon fiber scale on Ebay. The seller says that it will fit a Gen 4, but I'm not sure. Is there an extra hole at the front-inside of the scale to allow the new lock bar? Is there anyway to determine Gen 4 compatibility visually?

Also, It's a used scale for $170.00...seems kinda outrageous to me.

What do you professionals think?

Thanks in advance for your input.

The seller is accurate (although I agree with cakes072185's post as well to be cautious dealing with this seller), all carbon fiber scales, as well as G10 scales, will fit all the generations of knives of the same size (there is an exception for Gen 1 3.5" XM-18 if they haven't been converted). The liner on these knives is set-up for the stop pin (not the scale).

Congrats on the new knife.

Thanks RDA. I appreciate the input. After a whole lot of Google-Foo, I wasn't able to determine the answer myself. 'Preciate it.

As alluded to, really becomes an issue with Full Ti scale otherwise.....
I'd look at reputable sellers like Monkey Edge and approved vendors listed on the RHK site.

Thanks RubiconSS. I just heard back from RHK, they plan to put the Gen 4 Ti scales into production in about a month, with about another month for completion. I can't find one at ME or anywhere else.

I didn't ask RHK about CF though. Can't find one of those from an AD either. :P
