Anyone recognize the maker of this custom folder? The craftsmanship is outstanding and the only marks are as pictured. I have no idea if the "#366" indicates the number made or a model number. If there were in fact over 300 made, then someone should recognize either the knife or the work. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as this one has completely stumped.

My first was actually Wayne Goddard, but I didn't know if he had ever used vidro-etched initials in his earlier days. I had also thought of Bill Green from Australia, but I'm not sure how he marked his blades.

I would be very surprised to find out this wasn't one of Wayne Goddard's knives.

Sure enough is one of mine, antler part handled folders are considered one of a kind and that makes this one 386 in my total production of folders. I'm at number 660 now. marks are not vibra tool but etched.
With a good light look on the inside of the backside liner, most have a date and signature in there.

I dug out my record book and #386 was completed in August of 1978. the blade is made out of O-1.

Wayne,

Thanks for the great info. It's an awesome little folder and the workmanship is certainly exceptional.

Hmmmmm.........I'm guessing that since you didn't know who made it, neither did the seller. Did you perchance, get a good deal on this piece?:D

I'd say I got it for a pretty good price, although I have no idea what a similar knife would go for. I'm guessing that given the high quality and superb workmanship, that it originally must have sold for multiples of what I paid...even in 1978. It was listed simply as a nice, unmarked folding knife.
