Pala has a plan. He's bought some land in a better location (less visible, less traffic, fewer neighbors) and is planning to build another small factory along with the upper story for apartments for kamis and sarkis and their families. He'll get this done when he gets back and when it's finished and ready to go we'll transport equipment and people in just a couple of days so downtime will be minimal. We are leasing now but the lease will be up soon.
Pala is an old hard headed Gorkha. I'm just an old hard head, period. We're committed to keep this thing going come hell, high water, Maoists and/or the Nepal Army.
I think we'll be okay with this move. We have all the papers required by HMG to do what we do. It takes a little "greasing" to get everything done but we'll do what it takes.
As I said, if things become impossible we'll pack up everything and everybody, hire a truck and it's off to Darjeeling. "Made in Darjeeling by Nepalis!"
