If I already own an Izula...?

Is it worth it for me to buy the Izula 2? I like the longer grip and the scales, but what do you all with experience think?

If an Izula II did not exist, would you be satisfied with what you have?

You do realize you are asking a group who enjoys their redundancies, yes?;)

To answer your question, go for it. You may find you like the extra bit of handle.

Or you could go bigger and get a 3 or smaller and get a Candiru. The choice is yours my friend.

I bought them in that order and went back to the smaller. The II has a smaller hole, and that alone was enough to change my mind. Also, I find the original to have a long-enough handle, so the extra length did nothing for me.

I don't have either but was leaning towards the Izula 2 because of the extra 3/8 inch in the handle. I think the Izula is lighter though but the blade length is the same as the 2.

If you like the feel of the Izula grip, keep it and save your money for something else. If you think you would benefit from another 3/8 inch added onto the handle, you could go with the Izula 2, and than sell the Izula.

Thanks all.

What problem are you trying to solve?

I really like the Izula, especially with the cord wrap I added for comfort. The cord wrap is not the best option for messy jobs though. The handle scales for the original Izula don't seem to make the handle much better, they just look to make a little handle fatter.

The advice to save up and find something totally different is decent. I really like the looks of the Bark River Necker 1/2... The blade on the Necker 1 seems tiny and the blade on the Necker 2 seems longer than I want.

Talking about neckers and Izula, you could give a try to the becker necker. It's a tad different from the izula, blade shape wise and with the thingy in the end of the handle.

Get some g10 TKC scales. They fill the grip up perfectly imo.

These are amazing scales, whenever I think about buying another izula I also factor in the cost of a pair of these. They're just that nice.

One benefit of the Izula II is that the scales come with the knife so you don't buy them separately. But it's also about $25 more than the regular Izula.

I had an izula , I got an izula II , I gifted the original Izula .

I have biggish hands , and that little bit larger handle is soooo worth it .

My opinion only tho

Go by what you can afford. I wouldn't put yourself in the poorhouse over this. If you have big hands, the Izula 2 might not even work for you.
