If I don't get a PM2.......Another Manix vs. Matriarch?

My choices are then: Another Manix 2 or Matriarch 2. I have Manix 2 regular, lightweight blue, and XL. I've been eyeballing either another regular but with the new s30v, or the lightweight black. The Matriarch is totally different than anything I have, but I'm worried about the ease of sharpening. I have the sharpmaker.

Well, give me your ideas!

hmm. I'm not the type to really double or triple up on the same knife, so another Manix wouldn't necessarily be my first choice. But I don't see the Matriarch as much of a user, more of a backup self defense type weapon. Obviously you definitely can use it for plenty of EDC tasks, it just seems less than ideal to me. I'm also not the type to carry any "self defense" knife, so... haha

so it depends exactly what you are looking for. The manix will be a better worker, IMO, but you already have a handful of them.

I will MAYBE buy manix 2 g10 and I am little worried about hollow ground. I am not sure if it is the right grind for carving tent pegs, food prep and general cutting.

The matriarch is a one trick pony IMO. If I recall correctly, Spyderco did not recommend the civilian for EDC use, only SD; I imagine the matriarch is no different.

I agree with the idea of a stretch. If you don't have one, you are missing out on one of Spyderco's best designs.

I would get the PM2. I'm not a fan of the Manix 2 or Matriarch.
I do love the the original Manix. The originals are great knives.

Yeah I'm still waiting a few more weeks. I've been on a list that was 4-5 weeks and it's been about that long. Patience, patience, patience........

you know my native is hollow ground and it has the best heat treat on s30v ive found yet and it seems to hold up well with that kind of thing.
