IF you had only $150 to spend until July 31, and you had a fair collection from last year, what would be your heart's desire?

So tell me, what's new that you would JUST HAVE TO BUY ?? It could be more than one knife, or a sharpener/knife combo, but only $150 !!

Try not to pick something you already have!

I would buy Ed Schott's camp knife in CPM 3V for $100. I would also probably get the Spydercard. I did recently get the Schott knife and it is a great bang for the buck but I dont yet own the Spydercard.

Microtech's new UDT is partial serration!
Just gotta get an MT auto!

Do it right,or not at all.

If I only had $150 to spend, I would get Jim Weyer's Knives:Points of Interest I-V series from A.G. Russell. It's the best bargain in knives.

Give it to me. That is what I'd do.

Pick something I don't already have? You know, you're making this tough. Let's see.... A few choices.... Camilus new fixed blade by Terzuola. or... Spyderco's Bob Lum, or an Emerson or a REKAT or.... Ken Onion Avalance (I have the random task).... or any of a number of BMs.. or Case XX pearl stockman (case select).... or.... the list is huge. Huge, I tell you.

Does anyone know when the Emerson Mach I is scheduled to be available? How about cost?

I don't have any Emerson's & I only have one fixed blade from last year -- SOG Tech I.

I'll check out the fixed blades which were recommended.

thanks!!

Greggmw, you got a deal man.

Here is the "Sebenza" pictured below. Gorgeous isn't it.

Lucky you, you even get a custom made one, even though it isn't from Chris Reeves.

Yours comes from Changmade Knife Company. You can email me for details on how you're going to get the money to me and how I'm going to get the "Sebenza" to you. BTW, did I tell you that this the first knife ever made at Changmade Knife Company? I'll even use my permanent marker to write a big #1 on it if you want.

Kershaw Ken Onion Boa, or the MT LCC, or maybe the Dozier Whittler. Glad I don't have to decide for real.

OK, I put #1 on the end of the "blade" of your "Sebenza", Greg. It's a little floppy because I forgot to heat treat it. I'll go do that with a bucket of water and a Zippo if you want me to. I also forgot to sharpen it, but there is a sidewalk outside my house, so I can go and use that to sharpen the "blade". Actually I forgot that the Sebenza was a folder, I'll drill a hole in it and make a handle out of cardboard. Yes, it will have a frame lock, it just won't be very strong. When can I expect my money?

I'll post pictures of the final results. Actually I'm too lazy to sharpen it, and I'm worried about what the neighbors will think about me using the sidewalk to grind a ruler... err... "Sebenza". I think I'll just draw the edge with permanent marker. It will be chisel ground, because I don't want to draw two edges, just one.

Okay! After two hours of total labor, I finished it. Man, it was tough work sharpening it. (I drew an edge on the other side, not visible, drew grind lines on it, then wrote Sharp Edge! Use with Caution!) This awesome knife has got a corrugated cardboard framelock and handle (yes, it actually locks). The blade is something metal and shiny. A pocket clip made of an index card is put on to the handle with clear tape, approved by the US Postal Regulations. I also put down the big #1 to show that it was the first knife from Changmade Knife Company. And for finishing touches, I made a thumb opening hole out of duct tape. The stop pin is made of duct tape. The pivot screw is made from 20-gauge chicken fence wire. The blade is about 14 inches long. It opens effortlessly with one hand and locks open.

Also, Spark and Mike, can I have my own manufacturer forum here? This is certainly not my last knife I'm going to make.

Gregg, I like the first two answers; a spydercard and a MT UDT.
You can get both for $150.

Comerade Chang,

You're a riot! Will it come in black, or serrated? How about an auto (Chang-O-Matic?) Version? The original Changmade Sebenza is a true classic destined for someone's collection. Just don't let Cliff Stamp get ahold of it!
