I love ALL lf my Barlow's and Case knives and I cherish my Queen City and old Remingtons but if I were to have to make a choice and the one which sees most pocket time it would be my Golden Rule Cutlery. Originally in a horrible Celluloid it was rescaled by a friend of mine in Reindeer Stag. The blade is nice and thick and holds a great edge and the knife has the spring and snap of a brand new knife even though from my best research it was made between 1910-1924. Heavy enough that you never wonder if it is still in your pocket, it is good for day to day tasks and in a pinch it could also serve as a skinning blade or self-defense tool. I know Golden Rule isn't a very popular brand but if this knife is representive of what they produced they were a fine company.
I absolutely love it.

I'm not familiar with Golden Rule, but I like the looks of that knife. I like big knives as well, my favorite is a trapper that measures around 8 1/4" open. Whoever did that rescale for you did a fine job. I can see why it's a favorite of yours.
