Can you recommend another nice fixed blade? I love the simple design, size, weight - everything about it. Another I am looking at is the rampless Bark River Bravo 1. Something similar in size and simplicity to the F1 TIA

Survive Knives in CPM 20CV for edge retention or CPM 3V for toughness.

Bark River Bravo 1 LT is the slightly smaller, thinner, lightweight version of the Bravo 1. It's fully convex like the F1 and similar in size. It can be had in rampless as well as drop point.

As others have mentioned, Bark River's Bravo 1 and the Bravo 1 LT version are both good candidates. They are offered in A2 carbon steel and S35VN Stainless, and are convex and of a similar size and design to the F1.

The Fallkniven F1 was originally manufactured by Linder of Solingen Germany in ATS-34. Linder still offer the knife now as the Super Edge 1. Here is a comparison with the current F1.

In addition, Linder offers a number of hunter models with stag and other handles in either ATS-34 or 440C that are very similar to
the F1 design and size.

Fallkniven ended their contract with Linder Solingen and went to Hattori Seki, who makes the current F1, as well as all of Fallkniven's fixed blades. An alternative to the F1 is Hattori's HT-70 series which, like the F1 offers a VG10 laminate convex blade but with micarta, corian and cocobolo handles. Also offered in tangless and Damascus versions, I have two of them and they are similar to the micarta versions of the F1.

The Esee-3 is a similar size, not sure if I'd pick it over the rampless Bravo 1, though. Maybe look at the BRK Gunny as well, it's just a little smaller than the Bravo and I much prefer it.

The Coldsteel Master Hunter is like a F1 on steroids.
The current VG1 version is a fine knife but the 2015 model is listed in 3v for just under a hundred bucks.

The new Bravo 1 LTs were just released in 3v. You can get them either rampless or in the "hunter" version which is a rampless, drop point blade.

I agree, the Bravo 1 LT is on my list. I am beginning to think my original B-1 in A2 is a bit too thick for general use. As an inexpensive user, woods knife, I just acquired a Becker BK-16, and really like it.

Have not tried the f1..
But recently bought a busse cabs, fantastic knife!

4inch blade with a razor sharp convex edge.
Also it is very easy to keep sharp! Have batoned frozen wood/Hard oak and used it pretty heavily on some icefishing trips.

Got some dings in the edge, and lost the razor sharpness..

Steeled the knife on a screwdriver, and strooped it a few times on a old belt, boom! Knife was sharper than new!😮
