I really really REALLY am starting to like the SOG designed and made knives! However... there are a number of blades I would snap up in a second (X-42 Autoclip and Vision) but for the insistance of the Americanised tanto. Ron is there any chance you can make some spear/clip or even drop point knives for us? Otherwise I hope the field knife is out soon!

Hi General,

We always have a number of new knives under development by SOG Blackworks. You'll have to sit tight till February 2002 when we'll introduce all our new products at the SHOT Show.

Febuary 2002? Cool, just in time for by b-day. :D But, it is a loooong time to wait.

I'd also praise SOG. They've come a long way in the last couple of years.

Hopefully, gone are the days where many SOG folders looked like pseudo-Spydercos.

In the past few years SOG has done an outstanding job of incorporating unique designs, and being more accomodating to knife knuts by offering different materials in the composition.

BUT, I still wish SOG would kick it up a gear and go head to head with the other big boys by offering higher end steels and more blade styles within a particular model.

"Like" companies such as Spyderco, and Benchmade frequently release "special editions", as do smaller companies. So why not SOG? I know SOG isn't going to make a lot of profit but it will heighten its image.

Those returns are 10 fold from a marketing standpoint don't you think?

Yeah. Too many tanto blades, not enough spear-point/drop-point.
And, make more plain-edge instead of combo-edge. I find the Vision and the X-42 Autoclip interesting, but not in tanto. I know this has been commented on before, and the answer is that tanto sells well, but not to me.

Me either! The Tanto looks 'good' to a novice but is almost useless when you try a spear point et al. I found it nice in work one year as a kind of Stanley knife, but in the field? Forget about it!:p
