If I went out today and bought 100 new knives

I'd still want another within a week an a half. It's TRUE. Makes me sick :barf:
I'm serious. I get a knife, retire one, and damned if I don't find myself drooling over a NEW one within the week or at most two weeks.

I am fighting it. I will NOT let it happen.

No I won't.

Not ever.

Nein.

hmmmmmmmmmmm

Dude, just face it, you're hopeless! ;)

Really though, I'm the exact same way. I've been on a custom kick lately, and drool over knives in the makers for sale forum daily.

For me though, buying lots of knives is easier on my wallet than when I was on a 1911 kick. I can buy like 20 nice production knives for the price of one Wilson Professional. :)

Don't worry, there's a cheap fix...Frost Cutlery to the rescue. Get Smoky Mountain's catalog and you'll see such great deals as 48 imitation premium quality folders for $49...hmmm, or was it 49 folders for $48? Well, you get the drift. Just buy a few Frost Gift Pacs and carry a different knife every day. You can even get some of Frost's exclusive imitation Spyderco replicas with a real hole in the blade! Plus they'll pass any underwater spine whack test you can devise (at 400 feet). And these knives are tough! You can pour dirt, water, lye, cement, and battery acid on them, put them in a hole in the ground and a week later they'll still be there! I mean, you can't beat these things. You can stab them into solid concrete and their special linerlock failsafe system will collapse the knife blade to keep it from sustaining any damage. (And you thought AutoLAWKS was good!)

Get them while they last, and believe me, they won't!

Frost Cutlery knives have been used for years by Japanese
sailors, which is the reason they're frequently called "junk knives."

I totally feel ya. I just got laid off, don't know where my next check is coming from, and yet last night there I was, right on the verge of buying a Bark River T.U.S.K. on e-bay that I absolutely don't need. Luckily, I white knuckled that one. Next time though, who knows?

Well, if I bought 100 knives today, I would be financially unable to buy another for some time. But yeah, if I bought ten today I'd be looking at buying another in two weeks or less.

Buying regularly is the only way to build a decent accumulation/collection.

I have the same problem. Steel addiction. Sounds better than "poor impulse control."

Right now I have next month's birthday present already purchased and in my pocket. $200 I shouldn't have spent but rationalized away. I keep telling myself, "that's it! You have exactly what you need. You don't need any more!"

Ah, but the want.

Sorry to hear about your situation. Being laid off is a serious situation and it's impacted just about everyone I know. Just remember, that unless you're fairly confident in getting another job soon, you may be selling things you thought you'd never have to. I found that out the hard way.

Good luck in finding a new job and stay off eBay. Even when you find a new employment, it ain't a bad idea. Last night I was in a Wal*Mart and if they didn't have mostly Gerbers I would've been in trouble. Don't know why they're selling that garbage.

Steel addiction, more costly than drugs and gives even a greater high.:D:D:D:D

You sound completely normal to me if that tells you anything. Gee our Walmart has many brands other than Gerber but Gerbers have treated me well. Can't go big game hunting without my Gerber Gator and Buck Lite.:)

It gets worst. First its just knives, then its flashlights, camp gear, backpacks, shoes, guns, etc.

hehe, I just went to the SMKW website and looked at the frost knives. There are so many knockoffs in there.

does this look like a knockoff sebenza to anyone else? It seems like the exact same shape, only instead of S30v and titanium, it's 420j2 and 420j2. lol
