couldnt you put scales on it? i know its an odd question, but im just wondering, like no fasteners or pins, just epoxy on some material that you shape to the handle. Has anyone done this sort of thing before?

I think you would have sh*it-load of trouble if you tried to do such a thing. However there is a another solution: You could simply buy the police-model with G-10 slabs.

FYI, they are releasing a limited edition carbon fiber model...

uncleknife's link was a good one...they offer essentially customized Spydies such as the Police below:

Yes, as mentioned/shown, Santa Fe has been doing it for years. I've also seen wood, and bone scales added on. The nice thing is that the knife is pretty thin, so the addition of handle slabs dones'nt make it bulky.

Stair tread tape would be a natural on the stainless handle Police. It is a medium grey in appearance and would even look good on the knife since it is a polished/satin stainless. Ace Hardware stores carry this product and it is made by 3M so it does stick where you put it!

I just did a couple of framelocks with this stuff and it works and looks great.
