Recently we asked the local TARGET store to be a proud sponsor of the
> Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall during our spring recognition event.
>
> We received the following reply from the local TARGET management:
> "Veterans do not meet our area of giving. We only donate to the arts,
> social action groups, gay & lesbian causes, and education."
>
> So I'm thinking, if the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall and veterans in

> even hundreds, just a small sponsorship for a memorial remembrance.

>during the recent Iraq deployment, they would not allow families of

>Then as I dig further, TARGET IS a French-owned corporation.

> Now, I'm thinking again. If TARGET cannot support American Veterans,

This Past christmas Target refused to let the salvation army bell ringers stand in front of their stores for donations.

I'm not sure why?
I don't mind the salvation army doing their thing
but in turn it's a bad feeling
to walk by many many times and have the feeling you have to give each time.
My son works part time for sears and I'm in and out of there a lot.
and I just can't give every time I go by them..so it does make some people
uncomfortable I think. not for reasons some would think...

look at my first post I edited it with a URL saying it's a myth.

Exactly!! I don't know why this stuff keeps going around. It's been on one, or another of the forums here at BFC at least 4 times over the last few years, and been proven as BS every time, but it keeps coming back.

People obviously want to believe the worst.:barf:

Edited to add; As far as the salvation army goes, I don't care what happens to them. They are no friend of a free America. :barf:
Ask Cougar about them if you doubt me.
There was a thread about this very subject a couple of years ago, I think in community.

what's up with the S/Army
as bad as the Red Cross maybe
Yes, they and another big charitable organization who's name slips my mind at the moment, are basically socialist in nature, and much of their money, received as contributions from unknowing people like us, is given to socialist(democrat) politicians, like kennedy, diane fineswine and others who would all like to see us all in a workers paradise like Russia used(?) to have.

And they do this for the express purpose of seeing those changes come about here.

I believe they list all these hopes, and goals on their main site somewhere. I think it was Cougar that pointed this out some time ago.

Give Cougar a shout out. I believe it was him that got into the conversation, and pointed this out. It was at least 2 years ago, and I think it was on the community forum.
It's possible it was Gollnick, but Cougar sticks in my mind. He'd remember if it was him.

BTW, I don't have any warmer thoughts of the red cross either.;)
