I used to listen to that Connie Francis song from time to time. I was going out with a girl from Texas and I only saw her like once every other month. We were together for 4 years, but most of that time was spent apart. She ended up going to med school at Texas tech and we broke up.

Man...I thought my days of endlessly waiting for something to fly to me from over the Atlantic were over!! I heard that song today and it brought it all back, except this time I'm waiting for a TLGB. Still, all things considered, if had to choose the TLGB or my ex, I'd probably take the knife!

That is funny :)

Yep, med school can change the scope of things. Some 'couples' that go to med school have a habit of drifting away from each other. Things get complicated and convoluted with the frenetic schedules etc. In your case you had the ultra long distance between the two of you. Who knows what really happened between the two of you. People change and situations change, but INFI will always be INFI.

I had an old pal from Detroit who helped his woman get through dental school. After she passed all the courses, she changed her direction and left him standing on the front porch. Wonder how many others have fallen to a similar fate? Funny how a song can push an old memory to the surface.

I suspect you'll get a tub load of enjoyment out of the knife. Also, for what it is worth: women tend to be a tad more expensive than knife collecting.

Good read and that brought back a few memories of my own except reversed, England to US. I just received my ASHBM this past week and broke it in this past weekend. So I hear ya Bro...

It was a long wait for my TGLB but well worth. She is a lovely beast.

Dude, you hit the nail on the head. So true. Women come and go, but INFI will always be INFI. That should be Busse's motto!

Sometimes in a relationship you can end up being used as a means to an end, like your friend from Detroit, it's horribly unfair when that happens. But that didn't really happen with me, she just kind of out grew me. It was kind of like a 500 days of summer type thing. I was head over heels for her but she was just never really that in to me. It was amazing while it lasted, we had some crazy adventures, and some incredible times travelling around Europe and 'Murica. I'll never forget this road trip we took to Vegas, it was awesome, partly because I was on fire at the tables, but mostly because that's where I first managed to bone her. And when we lived in Madrid, that was awesome too. But...The sweet is never as sweet without the sour, so when she dumped me I just kind of accepted it, the way when a fair ground ride comes to an end: it's super enjoyable and at first you think it's over too soon, but then afterwards you realise that it if you kept doing it much longer it quickly become less and less exciting, and in the end you'd end up totally sick of it.

(Sigh). Jesus Christ...what am I on about?! This is a knife forum not group therapy!!! Ignore me, I'm being a soppy twat.
