The United States Army has purchased a small number of Vietnam Tomahawks with our new Next Generation synthetic handle for official testing at the Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland. This is where EVERY piece of gear on the soldier's basic load goes to get dropped, vibrated, heated-up, immersed in salt water, blown up, shot up, thrown, and generally, tested to failure.

During the development of our new Next Generation synthetic handle, we HAD TO BE SURE that it would NOT loosen or break on the Vietnam Tomahawk.

We made an extremely long two-handed handle to generate torque way beyond whatever the 14" handle could generate, machined the eye for a precision fit, machined the handle for a precision fit, used a hydraulic press, and sent Kevin outside.

Here were the results...

60 seconds...no loosening, no breaking.

Here's what it looks like...machined eye and machined handle stem

The head is pressed on with a hydraulic press and is waiting for the hydraulic pressed wedge...

A perfect fit...and it ain't comin' off! (We hope :D )

And it will be available to our commercial market VERY soon!!! Stay tuned.

PS...the handle in these pics was for the test. The final version is properly machined with contours, knurling, and hatching. VERRRRRY much like our hickory handle in terms of symmetry and dimension.

$169.95 is the MSRP for this new Vietnam Hawk.

This new handle requires a precisely machined eye milled into an already manufactured Vietnam Tomahawk head...so essentially, we are "hot-rodding" our already high speed head with a modern handle that will allow the entire Hawk to take more abuse than it ever would or could before. The handle is precision machined, knurled and hatched. The eye is milled... then both the handle and wedge are hydraulically pressed into place, one at a time. This process is far more economical than fully machining a Vietnam Tomahawk head to receive a machined handle.

We are trying to work out a process for folks who might want to upgrade their existing Vietnam Tomahawk to this handle, but the promise for this is sketchy at the moment.

Are you trying to get all my money. I was saving up to get the regular vietnam hawk but this is just tooooooo sweet that I'm gonna have to cough up just alittle more. I was hoping to get 1 of every model but that might be harder than I thought..........

Congrats on getting hawks out to the testing grounds! I knew that you had this in mind from day 1. Wouldn't Mr. Lagana be happy to see ATC providing ISSUE hawks! Way cool.
