If multiple production manufacturers collaborated on a folder, what would you get?

I know this will never happen, but it seems like a fun thing to contemplate. I mainly think about the big 3, so if Benchmade, KAI (for the purposes of this fantasy: ZT), and Spyderco collaborated on a folder...

What would it look like?

I picture something with what each manufacturer is famous for:

Locks:
Frame-lock with KAI's insert
Axis Lock
Compression Lock

Blade Steels:
ELMAX
What's Benchmade's most famous super steel - M4 or M390 maybe?
S90v

Scales:
3D machined G10 (thinking Hinderer specific pattern - like the 0560)
Layered 3D G10 (I'm thinking like the Blue/Black M390 AFCK)
Peel-Ply Carbon Fiber (or that Laminate G10/CF stuff they use on the Sage - I actually love that stuff, if you could get a solid chunk of it, I think it would be awesome)

Opening mechanism:
Flipper and blind stop-pin
Thumb-stud
Spyder-Hole

Blade-shape/Grind:
Big Fat oversized blade in drop-point with a 2/3 Saber-Grind
Long Skinny blade with a 50/50 Saber-Grind
Leaf-Shape (or Para-2 shaped) with a FFG

I'd love to see an S90v Big Fat over-sized FFG (in either Leaf, or Drop-Point) blade with either a flipper or just a Spyder-Hole, and to be honest, the scales could be any of the above, but the lock... I don't know - as long as they mix it up, it could probably be any of the above.

Maybe they need to make 3 knives :)

What say you blade-forums? If you had your choice, would you also include other manufacturers? An Emerson Thumb-disk or wave? Cold Steel Tri-Ad lock? Ball-bearings or no?

Sounds like a Spyderco or Top's knife. Both these companies have such an extensive lineup, many collaborations, and even more just modified copies of other knives...just reading through their respective catalog's makes me reach for the Advil.

These already exist. Take the Matrix, for example. Design provided by Kai, and production by Microtech ;)

You'd probably get a mess. QC, manufacturing, selling, and material choice would all be points of contention.

Holy cow - let's not Mind-F@#$ this guys :)

It was just a fantasy "what would it look like if..." scenario - I'm not talking about actually doing anything like this in reality (although, LOL at the Microtech comment - I agree).

Seriously, if you could take the "best of" from one of your favorite production manufacturers, and combine it with the "best of" from another... you wouldn't mix/match?

Meh, maybe it's just me (I'm bored today).

Benchmade: Axis Lock, Glass Breaker end
Spyderco: FFG, Spyderco Hole, Super steel
ZT: KVT Flipper, Composite Blade

Sounds Like you need a Strider with one of their runs in s110v, Or other super steel.

I could be completely happy with a Spybenza, compression lock, CTS-20CP or S90V, carbon fiber, 3.25" blade, Krein regrind, 0.150" thick.

Also, it would be one of those things where they're trying too hard to make something unique. IMO, unique doesn't usually translate into a good cutting tool.

You'd get an Axis lock with a Spyder hole in the shape of a Blur.

Then Tony Marfione would steal the idea and make it first, but not as well.
