to tell you what theve been through! one of my favorite things to do is test blades. but just cutting rope and breaking blades in a vice, driving the point into different things, and 2x4 chopping gets boring. I used to do alot of work with mobile homes, especially during the winter and freeze-ups, demo work, and rehabs. talk about testing! the folders that I used to use just couldnt stand up to that kind of abuse, and werent friendly to me either. so I built a "work knife" forged from a leaf spring, guard and but cap were forged from the same spring. hickory handle, locktite 5 min epoxy for glue up, tang was peened over at buttcap. That was about 3 years ago. Its finally time to replace it.

this blade has seen alot of use and abuse! ive thought of it as a sharp prybar. The sheath fits inside the right leg pocket of carhart bibs, in kind of a low ride place right along your thigh. Ive dug, pried, chopped, chipped through ice, cut wire, cut banding on shipments, you name it. Lots more fun than just shop testing!

this one was forged from a truck coil spring, homegrown micarta handle, i need to etch it now that i just figured out how to do that.
anybody else got pics of theirs and the stories they tell?
