If RAT made a folder that...

...had exactly what you wanted on it, what would that be? Give your ideas as to what you would want out of a folder from RAT, or any other company just to keep this mixed up.
My ideal design would be:

Drop Point blade
same Black Coating
H1, since this is jungle training :) (Or stick with 1095?) I like H1
Frame Lock, or Lock Back
No Assists, (Just my pref, less mechanics, sturdier knife)
G10 scales, or in the case of frame lock, some sort of catchy steel frame.

Visual Design? Well I would leave that one up to you guys.

If I have enough time I will draw you a nice picture.

RAT Pack #335

I like drop point blades no serrations. G10 feels good on my hands as long as its textured properly. I would want good gimping on the blade to insure a good grip. I like having pocket clips. I think it would need to be either frame lock or axis lock. I'd like to see a full flat ground blade. Thumb stud deployment. Tip up carry. blade length 2.5-3 inches. as far as steel the H1 is nice or even aus 8 to save on cost or something similar. I wouldn't want it to be more then $50.

Here's my idea

Drop Point blade (around 4")
Black Coating
1095
Frame Lock
Flipper and thumb stud
G10 scales on the non-lock side for grip

Not perfect probably, but I bet whatever the guys at RAT come out with will be pretty close to perfect. (How's that for ass kissing!:D)

I think you'd be better off looking at the current offerings from Spyderco, Benchmade or literally dozens of other companies if you are looking for a folder with the type of specs you are listing. Rat Cutlery has stated over and over that a folder is in the works but way down the development pipeline. These hypothetical threads about RAT folders with wacked out steels and specs are getting pretty tiresome . . . .

I agree, BenchmadeBoy

We already have a design so anything that goes on in this thread is mere speculation...

Well I am not exactly looking, I have a good folder. If people say what they would like to see then hopefully that will give Jeff and the people at RAT a good idea of what to make. I don't see it as hypothetical since it is going to happen, hypothetical would be more like posting about what a RAT gun would look like if they made one.

Edit: Jeff posted before I refreshed my page, I didn't know there was already a design. Woops. I though you were just thinking about it still?

seanuhthin,

You seem to be starting a lot of different threads. No problem with that but if you would take some time and read through a lot of other threads already here you might find a lot of answers.
