The Machax is an awesome knife. Its just so fun to use. I tried it as a draw knife, I used it to chop, I used it to make some quick traps/triggers, I stabbed stuff... its shape makes it fun to swing, its light enough to not tire you out and its just a blast to use. Its not my best chopper but it is one of my funner knives to play with. So if the BK9 is the KING... The BK4 is the fun Partying Prince!








 
Hoping to get one soon. While I don't like monarchs as a rule, this prince guy seems ok :D
 
As highly acclaimed as the BK4 is, it's not even really on my wish list. Don't get me wrong, even Godzilla wants one.

Your knife and your curls look better than mine :D I need to get mine some micarta and strip her down.

And on the curls.... I never could get nice pretty feather sticks.. I normally cut each curl off when i make the next one LMAO

Nice collection, WW. Sounds like the perfect description: the King all straight lines and tradition; the "Prince" all swoopy with his handle cocked at that jaunty angle. Damn, now I want a Machax! Someday.
 
Well thanks for fueling the Becker fire, I was gonna get another 9 soon but I might have to reconsider!

The 4 is the only one of the Becker line I would really have to hold and handle before I committed. Plus the 9 is such a great blade I just dont know how much use it will see. BUT I know as everyone else who is a Becker addict knows.... I will probably own them all eventually... I just have to decide which I will give it up to next.
 
For those of you that have the BK9, You cannot not have a 4:D

Seriously though, when you put the 4 in your hands it changes you. I can't describe how, but a feeling comes over me and I have to swing it into everything around me that needs chopping. The forward weight its taking control and making me feed it. But hey, who am I to starve anything, so I let 'em eat.
 
The Machax is still my go to blade for kindling prep......It really shines when batonning....In fact I used one yesterday to process a bunch of red oak bolts into 1x1 kindling for the fireplace... It us still a very useful tool when being crafty too..... When you get the hang of the snap cut it really will get a lot of work done in a hurry......... Use a Machax for a while and it will start singing sweet nothings in your ear.....(did I just type that?...OMG)........LOL....
