I was just admiring Christiantrevors thinned D2 112 and thinking about how to get a second one for myself as I'm keeping the one that I have for my rare, odd 1 of 1 112 collection that I have worked on since 2007. So many 112's have come out in the last few years that are worthy of display that I would like to buy I'm having a real hard time deciding on what to get now and what to try to find latter or get used for a lower price. Do I try and sell /trade some of the other nice Bucks I've picked up over the years in Atlanta at the Blade show or the Virginia show for 112's? Maybe some of BCCI knives I like and bought? I have a D2 118 I admire and occasionally use or the 298 154 CM sitting in front of me right now? I love each and everyone I bought and really want to keep them all! In the last 7 or 8 years I gave nice Bucks as Christmas presents to family and close friends. .even a few rare ,odd , 112's just because I love them so. Now that there gone I almost wish I had kept them! I KNOW I'm not the only Buck collector that this happened too. Terms like 'thinning the heard ' are mentioned occasionally and I'm sure many more like it. So how do yall handle it when a new Buck opportunity comes around and your Buck budget is busted? Especially if you mainly collect or display one model? I need help! Armand is the only one I know that doesn't worry or need assistance. ..

Personally, I have a few Buck 112's and 110's on my "to buy" list too. If you can budget one per month, that's 12 by the end of the year. That's how I'm working it anyway.

That's pretty much the same way I do it...one a month. My collection is nowhere near what some of you guys have and I don't have that many nice or rare models. But, I get what I can and make sure it's ok with my wife since she keeps a better eye on our finances than I do...

I started turning tricks to support my knife habit...

Turns out I met some fantastic old gals who had knife collections that their husbands had left behind.

Well.......there's a collector giving away his crafty collector knife-finding tactics.

I used to be in the 1 a month club. ...in 2011 I got overdrawn till 2015. .Then last year I went to low hanging fruit on the Buck tree. I picked up a 50th anniversary DU for less than $50.00 then a NCKA cut out for the same. Next up was a pair of drop point 112's with 484 blades for customizing down the road. .under $50.00 again. They really helped the addiction. My Buck Jones got bad again and I just had to get a Buck lite with a 112 blade. But these are just temporary fixes...Is there a Buck addiction hot line to call?
